Recipe
Our hydrating drink recipe.
A simple, mineral-rich drink for the days when plain water just isn't cutting it. Five minutes, four ingredients, no special equipment.

What you'll need
Ingredients
- 2 cups water, still or sparkling
- Juice of half a lemon or lime
- A pinch of good-quality salt
- 1 tsp honey or maple syrup, to taste (optional)
How to make it
Method
- Squeeze the citrus into a glass or jar.
- Add the pinch of salt and the honey or maple syrup if you're using it, then stir until dissolved.
- Top up with water and stir again.
- Taste and adjust — more citrus if it's flat, a touch more sweetener if it's sharp.
- Serve over ice, or keep a jar in the fridge and pour through the day.
A note from our dietitians
This is a pleasant everyday drink, not a treatment for anything. If you're managing a thyroid condition, kidney concerns, blood pressure, or you've been told to watch your sodium, check with your own clinician before adding salt to your drinks — and talk to us about what makes sense for you.
